PONTOON STRUCTURES

There are generally four main components that make up a floating pontoon system. Pontoons are considered the main structures, used for walkways and in residential circumstances the structure to moor the vessel. Fingers often only used in Marinas, fixed to the main walkways, they act as narrow walkways for mooring vessels. Gangways connect the floating system to the landside, usually hinged at a concrete abutment and rolling on the system. Piles and Pile Guides keep the system situated while allowing it to rise and fall with the tide.
